"String is not closed" problem

Post by Dutchman » Mon Oct 28, 2019 3:40 pm

If a quote character is missing in a string, the very last quote is highlighted instead of the quote in the line with the error.
That gives a lot of trouble in finding the right place. :mrgreen:
Run this:

Code: Select all

a="abcdef"
b="ghijkl
c="mnopq"
d="rstuv"
e="wxyz"
It is still a long way to go

This is because the string can contain any character, even EOL:

Code: Select all

print "This
is
a
text"
Probably, this is not a good behaviour, because it becomes a problem to find an open string in a long program, as you showed.
I will correct this.
Thank you for the report.
